Christmas videos for companies: ideas, what to say and when to start

Updated October 16, 2026

A good company Christmas video tells something true about your year: your team, a client or what you've achieved. It runs 30 to 60 seconds, comes in vertical and horizontal versions, and the idea is locked in early November. It can be a simple greeting or a campaign with humour; what doesn't work is a generic template.

Greeting or campaign: two different Christmas videos

People searching for "Christmas video for companies" usually want one of two things, and it helps to know which before you start.

The first is the greeting: a short video for clients, suppliers and staff that replaces the usual Christmas card. It goes out by email, gets posted on LinkedIn and is played at the office party. Its job is to make whoever watches it think of you fondly and, along the way, remember that you do good work.

The second is the campaign: one or more ads to sell at the time of year when people buy the most. Here the video has to stop the scroll, show the product and push people to buy before the holidays are over.

Both can come out of the same shoot, but they need different scripts. A greeting that tries to sell feels cold, and a campaign that only says "happy holidays" sells nothing. If you have a shop or a product, think about both. If you sell services to other businesses, a well-made greeting is usually enough, and it leaves you with material for January too.

Christmas video ideas for companies that work

The ideas that work best have one thing in common: they show things only your company has. These five never fail.

The year in review. Half a minute with the best of the last twelve months: a launch, a trade fair, the team celebrating a milestone. For Qilimanjaro, the Barcelona quantum computing company we work with, we made a thirty-second 2025 Recap built for social media. It closes the year and, at the same time, reminds clients and investors of everything they've done.

The team, unscripted. Each person says in one sentence the best thing about their year or what they wish their clients. It feels natural because nobody reads anything: we ask, we record and we keep the best bits.

The client who sends the greeting for you. Instead of you talking, a client explains in fifteen seconds what changed thanks to your work. It's a greeting and a testimonial at once.

Behind the scenes. The workshop, the kitchen or the warehouse running flat out in December. People love seeing how things get made.

Humour. A short sketch with the team or a fantasy world for the product. It's what gets shared the most, but it has to be done well: a weak joke takes away more than it adds.

With AI, with a free template or with a production company

Google suggests "free company Christmas video" and "Christmas video with AI" a lot. Both options exist and both have their place.

With a Canva or CapCut template you can put together a video with photos, text and carols in an afternoon. For a small business that just wants to have something, it does the job. The problem is that thousands of companies use the same templates, and whoever receives it notices within two seconds.

AI can do much more than a template. For the Bunker Christmas campaign, the anti-theft backpack brand from BCNapiedecalle, we built a world inspired by Willy Wonka, with Oompa Loompas, fairy-tale sets and the product woven into the story. Characters and sets were generated with AI; the idea, art direction, editing and pacing were ours. The result was two 30-second spots for social media, one for the brand and one with the Christmas offer, which a traditional shoot couldn't have delivered.

That's the difference: AI makes sets and effects cheaper, but it has no ideas and doesn't know what makes your audience laugh. We go into more detail in how to make generative AI ads that work.

What to say, how long it should be and which format

After ideas, the most searched question is what to say in the video. Three simple rules.

One idea only. A Christmas video isn't an annual report. Pick one message (thank you, look what we've done together, this is our team) and leave everything else out.

People before logos. The faces of your staff and your clients do more than any snowy logo animation. If someone finds it hard to talk to camera, we ask them questions instead of handing them a script to recite.

A clear ending. A "thank you for this year" with the company's sign-off is enough for a greeting. In a campaign, the ending is the offer and how long it lasts.

As for length, 30 to 60 seconds for a greeting and 15 to 30 for social media ads. Go longer only if it's going to be shown at the office party, where the audience is seated and ready to laugh.

And for format, think about where it will be watched: vertical for Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp; horizontal for email, your website and LinkedIn. The practical move is to film once and get both versions, with subtitles, because many people will watch it with the sound off.

When to start and how we do it at Bostak

The most common mistake is remembering on 10 December. For the video to land while people are still checking email and social media, it has to go out in the first half of December, which means the idea must be locked in early November. A realistic schedule: idea and script in the first week of November, filming mid-month, editing and versions at the end of the month, and sending in the first days of December. With AI the shoot gets shorter, but the idea and post-production take the same time.

At Bostak Films we make both kinds of Christmas video. For a greeting, we come to your company in Barcelona or wherever you are, or we film in our studio in Viladecans, and in a single day we get your team on camera and the footage for the long version and the vertical cuts. For a campaign, we come up with the concept, produce it with a shoot, with AI or with both, and deliver spots ready to publish, as we did for Bunker. We work in Spanish and English.

FAQ

How do you make a Christmas video for a company?

First decide whether it's a greeting or a campaign. Choose one idea with real people (the team, a client, the year in review), film it in vertical and horizontal with subtitles and send it in the first half of December. To get there on time, the idea needs to be locked in early November.

How long should a company Christmas video be?

Between 30 and 60 seconds for a greeting to clients and staff, and between 15 and 30 for a social media ad. Something longer only makes sense if it's going to be shown at the office party, with the audience seated.

Can you make a Christmas video with AI?

Yes. AI can create characters, sets and effects that wouldn't fit in a normal shoot, as in Bunker's Christmas campaign, with a world inspired by Willy Wonka. But the idea, the script and the edit are still human work. Free automatic templates will get you by, although they all look alike.

Who makes Christmas videos for companies in Barcelona?

Bostak Films, a production company and creative agency with a studio in Viladecans, near Barcelona, makes Christmas greetings and campaigns for companies in Barcelona and across Europe, with a shoot, with AI or with both. If what you need is an ad, here we explain how to make a commercial step by step.
