Creative Director · Content Strategist

Albert Murillo

I run the creative side of Bostak Films. I shape podcasts and digital content people watch to the end, and turn them into a system that repeats every week.

Who is Albert Murillo?

Albert Murillo is a creative director and content strategist, and the founder of Bostak Films, a production company and creative agency based near Barcelona, Spain. He specializes in video podcasts and digital content: he defines the format, directs the look and turns every episode into social pieces. With his team, Aladetres grew from around 100,000 to over 800,000 YouTube subscribers.

What a podcast creative director does

A podcast doesn't grow by recording more. It grows when someone decides what gets told, who gets invited, how it looks and which moments go out on social. That's Albert's job: everything before and after you hit record.

In practice it comes down to three things. First, the format: what the show is about, how long it runs, how each episode opens and what the title and thumbnail promise. Then, the look: the cinematic intro, color, sound and the style of the clips. And finally, the numbers: every month he checks what holds attention, what gets clicked and what brings subscribers, and changes what needs changing.

Podcasts he has worked on with his team

In Spain, Bostak handles the full post-production of Aladetres, a Spanish-language history and current affairs podcast with more than 170 episodes on YouTube. Episode 145, with José Luis Cava, has passed 2.6 million views.

In English, together with its partner Dull Light in Miami, the Bostak team handles post-production, intros and thumbnails for shows such as Jordan B. Peterson's Lectures, The Mikhaila Peterson Podcast, The Sage Steele Show, Sadia Khan's The Brutal Truth, Peter Crone's Finding Freedom and BioHack-It.

One episode, a whole campaign

Albert's rule is simple: the full episode builds loyalty, the clips bring in new people. So every recording is planned from the start to give several pieces: the full episode, long cuts for YouTube, reels for Instagram, TikTok and Shorts, plus thumbnails and titles for all of it.

To avoid doing it all by hand, he built an in-house system at Bostak that turns a horizontal episode into a batch of vertical reels. The team spends its time choosing which moment deserves to go out, not trimming.

Where he comes from: film, music videos and YouTube

Before podcasts, Albert directed short films and music videos and worked as a director for YouTube creators. That's where Bostak's way of working comes from: treat a podcast with the care of a film, at the pace of the internet.

He has directed music videos for Catalan artists such as Paula Valls, Carla Collado, Raquel Lúa, Azul Infarto and Capinàs. Paula Valls' «És estrany», shot in Bostak's studio, was nominated for the Enderrock Awards. His full background is on the Bostak creatives page.

How to work with Albert

Albert doesn't work alone: he leads the Bostak Films team, based near Barcelona with remote editors. If you have a podcast or want to start one, the first step is a free audit where he looks at your channel (or your idea) and tells you what he'd change and where he'd start.

What does a podcast content strategist do?

They decide what the podcast should say, to whom and in what format, and how each episode is split into pieces for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Shorts. Then they measure what works and adjust it every month. We go through it step by step in how to grow a podcast on YouTube.

Does Albert Murillo work with companies or only with creators?

Both. Bostak makes podcasts and content for creators and for companies that want to communicate with a format of their own. If you're weighing up a company podcast, read whether a video podcast is worth it for a business.
