How to film a corporate event and what content to get from it

Updated October 5, 2026

A corporate event is filmed well when you decide beforehand which pieces you want. That shapes the crew: fixed cameras for talks with their own sound, a roaming camera for atmosphere and interviews, and photography. One event yields a recap video, full talks, interviews, photos and social clips.

Decide in advance what you want to get

The most common mistake is hiring someone to film the event without deciding what for. The result is hours of footage nobody uses. Before the day, answer one question: which pieces do we want the following week? A recap video for web and social, the full talks for those who could not attend, short interviews with speakers or clients, photos for press and LinkedIn, clips to release over weeks. Each piece demands something different on the day, so this list decides how many people are needed and where they stand.

Prepare with the event organisers

Good coverage is prepared with the people organising. You need the schedule, the speaker list and who to interview, where cameras can go without disturbing the audience and, above all, how sound will be captured. Talks sound good if the feed comes straight from the venue's sound desk: arrange it with the room technician beforehand, not on the day. It is also worth visiting the space or asking for photos to anticipate the light, because auditoriums and conference rooms tend to be dark, with very bright screens behind the speaker.

How the day is covered

The usual approach combines several positions. One or two fixed cameras record the talks in full, with a wide and a close shot of the speaker. A handheld camera roams the event capturing atmosphere: arrivals, networking, brand details, audience reactions. In a quiet corner with some light, short interviews are recorded with speakers, attendees or clients; questions are prepared in advance and people are booked into gaps in the schedule. Meanwhile a photographer covers the same moments. If you want to post during the event itself, you need someone editing on site.

What is delivered afterwards

After the event comes the edit, and that is where planning shows. Photos and a quick clip usually come first, to ride the interest of the moment. Then the recap video, which tells in a few minutes what happened and why it mattered, and the full talks edited with camera angles and slides. Interviews can be used whole or cut into clips, and work very well as client testimonials if recorded calmly. A well-covered event yields content for weeks.

Events in Barcelona and beyond

Barcelona hosts conferences, trade fairs, launches and company gatherings all year round, and many companies use those dates to produce a good part of their yearly content. At Bostak Films we cover corporate and technology events in Barcelona, the surrounding area and outside Spain; for Qilimanjaro, a European quantum computing company, we have covered international events as part of its video communication. If you have an event in the calendar and want it to leave more than a few loose photos, see how we approach corporate video and tell us which pieces you would like.

FAQ

How is a corporate event filmed, and what content can you get from it?

Decide in advance which pieces you want and plan the crew: fixed cameras for talks with their own sound, a roaming camera for atmosphere and interviews, and photography. You get a recap video, full talks, interviews, photos and social clips.

It depends on the pieces. For an event with talks, one or two fixed cameras on stage and a roaming camera for atmosphere and interviews is typical, plus a photographer.

When is the event video delivered?

Photos and a quick clip can be ready within hours or days if planned; the recap and edited talks come later. If you need something during the event itself, bring someone editing on site.
